Yesterday, I stumbled on ankewehner from Livejournal, who was taking art requests. I requested a picture of Raenur and Ferim, gave some refs, and left the rest up to the artist. I must say, I’m very pleased with what I got:
This captures the two of them perfectly, especially since I’m always imagining the two of them dancing in some way. =3 And seeing someone else’s rendition of characters that I’ve created inspired me to pick up the pencils and get back to comic-drawing all over again! =D
Now, if I can get my scanner to work with my new computer, I can actually upload those comics…
So, I was playing around with this Anime Character Creator, and just for the hell of it, I decided to see what Arjur would look like as an anime character. The result:
I added the collar just because I felt like it. Also the sparkles.
Apparently, I never updated about the fact that I sprained my wrist several weeks back. (Story here if you want the deets.) But, I did, and now it’s healed to the point that I can get back to drawing. I’m still having some issues with the tendon in my thumb, but I can at least hold the effin’ pencil now.
Of course, that doesn’t help the fact that I’m now three weeks out of practice, and therefore everything I draw right now is coming up like crap. So I’m working on a bunch of practice drawings before going back to comic art, not only because it helps me re-train myself to draw, but it also acts like a physical therapy for the afore-mentioned tendon issue. =P But worry not, my dear readers, for there are arts being made, and comics being plotted out! I just gotta get them to actually look right…
Now that about 90% of my offline dilemmas are taken care of (including getting my truck repaired and legalized ), I can start devoting more time to this site, the blog, and of course, the comics. I’m still in the process of fixing the mangled comics #3 and #4, as well as working on new ones to post.
Sorry I haven’t updated for a while. A long list of offline issues has kept me away from the computer for most of the past two weeks. With any luck, that’ll clear up soon, and I can get back to adding comics and updating my blog and such.
And for people that log onto the Ralynkei forums on any kind of a regular basis, I’m trying to fix the smilies that exploded. I got about half of them back up, and I’ll work on adding more when I get more time.
Eventually, things will get back together, and I can get back to procrastinating in peace. Okay, I’m somewhat kidding on that last part.
For some unexplainable reason, comics 3 and 4 got messed up and barely readable out of nowhere. They were perfectly fine and clear when I posted them originally (at least by my handwriting standards… ), but now they’re all blocky and whatnot.
It’s a good thing I keep the paper copies neatly filed away–as my work space is usually horribly cluttered –because I might just have to re-scan and re-upload.
I’m sorry for the current mess that they are. I’ll get it fixed ASAP.
I know it’s been a while since I’ve done anything to this site…I have one of those life things that tend to get in the way. But I haven’t stopped working on comics, and I hope to get some new ones up in the very near future.
And I’m seeing about getting my laptop fixed. If I can, that means I get to update more often with better quality comics! Yay!
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the first Ralynkei comic ever posted! We haven’t gotten all that far since then( ), but this is a new year with new opportunities! Let’s see how well I can do the second time around!
